The Gabba is a fully enclosed circular bowl holding around 42,000 (about 36,000 for cricket), so the seating runs as a continuous ring rather than separate grandstands. The best batting views are behind the bowler's arm at the Vulture Street and Stanley Street ends, the Members Reserve on the western side offers the best shade and facilities, and the upper bowl is the best value. It hosts the traditional first Test of the Australian summer, one-day and T20 internationals, Brisbane Heat BBL and Brisbane Lions AFL.
A fully enclosed circular bowl in inner Brisbane, redeveloped in stages through the 1990s and 2000s into a continuous ring of seating with light towers and video screens. The uniform bowl gives it an intimate, cauldron-like feel when full; cricket capacity is trimmed to around 36,000 by sight screens and a pool deck.
