LEAP has grown in five editions into the Middle East's biggest technology event, and LEAP 2026 runs 31 August to 3 September at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, on the desert fringe roughly 40 km north of central Riyadh. Upwards of 170,000 founders, investors, enterprise buyers, developers and government delegations attend, drawn by Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 technology spending and a speaker roster of global tech leaders. The venue's location is the defining logistics fact: there is almost nothing walkable at Malham, so demand piles onto hotels along the airport corridor and in north Riyadh, with Olaya and KAFD absorbing the overflow — and the best-placed properties sell out weeks ahead. Getting your hotel right determines whether your commute is 25 minutes or 75. This page covers the transfers, visas and event-week realities, alongside live bookable rates for the districts that actually work for LEAP.

Popular areas for attendees: Malham / North Riyadh · King Khalid Airport area · Al Yasmin.

  • Properties ranked by real drive time to the Malham venue, which matters more in Riyadh than star count
  • Live availability across 4–5 star hotels in North Riyadh, the airport corridor and Olaya/KAFD
  • Free-cancellation rates highlighted, since LEAP agendas and speaker days often shift late
  • Immediate tax invoice issued for every booking, ready for corporate expense systems

Pay Weekly: common questions

Do I pay any interest?

No. There is no interest and no extra charge. Your plan total is exactly the hotel price shown when you book. The only fee we ever charge is a processing fee on cash refunds (see 'What fees apply?').

How many payments can I make?

Depending on how far away your trip is, you can split your booking into between 2 and 16 weekly payments. The exact schedule is shown before you book.

What happens after I pay my deposit?

Your hotel is booked and confirmed immediately. You receive your booking confirmation and your full payment schedule by email, and the remaining payments are charged automatically each week.

How are the weekly payments taken?

Automatically. After your first payment, each weekly payment is charged to your saved card, and we send you a reminder 2 days before every charge. In a few countries where automatic card charges are not allowed, we email you a secure payment link each week instead. You can switch to a different card at any time.

Can I pay early?

Yes. Sign in to your Event Escapes account at any time and pay off your remaining balance in one payment, whenever it suits you. There is never a fee for paying early.

What happens if I miss a payment?

We retry your card automatically and email you a secure payment link so you can pay another way, plus a final notice with one link to clear the remaining balance. If the plan still cannot be completed, we cancel the room before its free-cancellation deadline and everything you have paid goes into your Event Escapes Wallet in full. You never lose the money you have paid. You can turn that credit into a cash refund at any time (the processing fee applies).

Where to eat during LEAP

Business events at Riyadh Front and the adjacent RICEC sit in the northeast near the airport, while most dining clusters along Olaya, Tahlia and the Northern Ring; allow 20-30 min by car. Riyadh has no Michelin guide, so these are reputation picks. Note dinner runs late locally.

Getting there

From King Khalid International Airport (RUH)

  • The Malham venue sits north of the city, about a 25–35 minute drive from RUH via Route 65 outside event peaks
  • Uber, Careem and Bolt all pick up at RUH arrivals, alongside licensed airport taxis; fares to Malham-area or north-Riyadh hotels are moderate by international standards but surge during LEAP peaks
  • There is no rail link to Malham — plan on road transfers for the whole trip
  • Many international flights land late at night; hotels in the airport corridor make a same-night check-in painless before an early first day

From central Riyadh and regional arrivals

  • From Olaya, KAFD or downtown hotels, budget 45–60 minutes to Malham in normal traffic and more during show peaks
  • Riyadh Metro's six lines cover the central business districts but do not extend to Malham, so the metro helps with evening plans rather than the venue commute
  • Saudi Arabia Railways trains from Dammam and Qassim arrive at Riyadh's stations, from which it is a 40–60 minute drive north to the venue
  • GCC visitors driving in should expect heavy traffic on Route 65 approaching the venue at opening and closing times

Getting around during LEAP

Getting to the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center daily

  • Allow 45–75 minutes from central Riyadh during show mornings; the last stretch of Route 65 bottlenecks as tens of thousands arrive
  • Ride-hail queues at closing time are the biggest daily pain point — schedule your return ride, leave before the final keynote ends, or wait out the first rush
  • Sharing cars with colleagues cuts both cost and pickup-zone time
  • Staying in north Riyadh or along the airport corridor can halve the daily commute versus downtown

Around Riyadh

  • Uber and Careem are ubiquitous and inexpensive relative to Western cities; cash is rarely needed as cards and Apple Pay are widely accepted
  • Riyadh Metro and buses run on the Darb card and app and are useful between Olaya, KAFD and the old city in the evenings
  • Late August and early September temperatures regularly exceed 40°C in the afternoon — plan car-to-door movements and carry water
  • Friday mornings are quiet across the city; restaurants and malls come alive after evening prayers

Visa & entry

Visa-free / visa on arrival

  • GCC citizens (UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman) enter Saudi Arabia without a visa
  • Nationals of the 60-plus eVisa-eligible countries — including the US, UK, all Schengen states, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, China and Canada — can generally also obtain a visa on arrival, though applying online in advance is faster at the airport
  • Holders of a valid, used US, UK or Schengen visa (any nationality) qualify for the eVisa route or visa on arrival when flying a Saudi-based airline

eVisa / visa required

  • The Saudi eVisa (visit visa) is open to 60-plus nationalities, is issued online, and covers attending events such as LEAP; it does not permit employment
  • Nationalities outside the eVisa list need an embassy-issued visit visa, typically supported by an invitation — start this process well before the event
  • Business-specific visit visas arranged through a Saudi host company are an alternative for delegations from non-eligible countries

Documents to carry

  • Passport with at least six months' validity — the standard Saudi requirement
  • Printed or digital eVisa/visa approval, LEAP registration confirmation and your hotel booking
  • Return or onward ticket, plus travel insurance where required by your visa type

Saudi entry rules evolve quickly — verify current requirements on the official Saudi visa platforms or with your nearest Saudi embassy before you book.

First time at LEAP?

  • Complete registration and badge details online before flying; on-site queues on day one are long, so arrive the afternoon before if you can
  • The venue is vast and outdoor transitions between halls are hot in early September — plan your stand list by hall and hydrate deliberately
  • Book your return ride-hail before the closing keynotes let out, or expect a long wait in the pickup zone
  • Dress codes are business-casual and modest; lightweight long clothing works best for the heat and the air-conditioned halls alike
  • The startup and investor zones fill fastest — get there in the first hours of day one if pitching or scouting is your goal

Insider tips from repeat attendees

  • Day four thins out noticeably; it is the easiest day to get time with exhibitors who were mobbed earlier in the week
  • The real deal-making happens at the evening side events and hotel majlis gatherings around Olaya and KAFD — track the satellite event calendars, not just the main agenda
  • Food outlets inside the venue queue heavily at prayer-break and lunch peaks; eating early or late saves half an hour
  • If your meetings cluster in one day, consider basing near the airport corridor and treating central Riyadh as an evening destination rather than a base

LEAP travel FAQs

When is the next LEAP?

The next edition of LEAP at Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center, Malham in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is still to be confirmed. Book a free-cancellation room now and adjust your dates once they are announced.

Where is LEAP held?

LEAP is held at Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center, Malham in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The nearest airport is RUH.

Where should I stay for LEAP 2026?

There are no walkable hotels at the Malham venue itself, so the practical choices are north Riyadh and the King Khalid Airport corridor for the shortest commutes, or Olaya and KAFD if you want the city's business and dining scene and can accept a 45–60 minute drive.

How much do hotels cost during LEAP?

Riyadh rates climb steeply during LEAP week — well-located four and five star properties commonly double their normal pricing, and the closest options to the venue command the sharpest premiums. Early booking beats late bargaining in this market.

How early should I book hotels for LEAP?

Two to three months ahead is a sensible minimum for the airport corridor and north Riyadh; the best-placed properties go earlier as exhibitor blocks land. Free-cancellation rates let you lock in early and adjust when your agenda firms up.

Which airport do I fly into for LEAP?

King Khalid International (RUH) is the only realistic option, and conveniently it sits on the same northern side of Riyadh as the Malham venue — around a 25–35 minute drive outside peaks.

Is there public transport to the LEAP venue in Malham?

No — Riyadh Metro does not reach Malham, so plan on ride-hail, taxis or arranged cars for the daily commute. Uber, Careem and Bolt all operate in Riyadh, and scheduling rides in advance around opening and closing peaks is strongly advised.
